I’ve got a confession to make: I actually really like “Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends”. For real. I think it’s Coldplay’s best album since Parachutes. It’s not better than Parachutes, but it’s still pretty damn good. I give them a lot of shit for making the same album over and over again, and Viva La Vida is not much different, but the songs are just really damn good. Strawberry Swing is probably now one of my most favourite Coldplay songs. If you initially passed over this album, it’s worth another listen. I won’t blame you for not liking it, but I won’t pretend that I don’t.
